Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

The ASIST workshops consist of a 3-day training sessions on how to help a suicidal person. Among the topics: recognize invitations to help, reach out and offer support, review the risk of suicide, apply suicide intervention model, link people with community resources. These workshops can be presented to :
- Intervention workers;
- Nurses;
- Police agents;
- Naturels caregivers;
- Elders;
- Youth over 18 years-old.

Many ASIST workshops have already been presented in various communities and most of the people who attended the workshops appreciated the content as well as how it was presented. They liked the fact that they could share their experiences and their feelings about suicide.
If you want to host an ASIST workshop in your community or workplace, the Association can support you in your efforts. We have a list of English and French speaking trainers who can travel to your community to present those workshops. If you are interested or should you need further information,
